Since September 2021, the 100th tour 🙂
You can drive from the dam past the campsite all the way to the signal towers. Parking is available near the forest. Cars also travel on the dirt road continuing along the riverbank. It is of decent quality in dry weather.
We first walked southeast along the riverbank, all the way to the tip of Kalap Island. Then we turned back and reached Kalap Island via the Görgetegi weir.
After the weir, we detoured to the Tótkalap culvert, then went southeast towards the tip of the island. The trail on the inclined dam in the last section is not marked on the tourist map.
We turned back and continued south to the closure separating the Upper Sebes from the Lower Sebes. We wanted to get all the way to the Csökös closure. However, due to the strong current of the water flowing over the Sebes closure and the mat of filamentous algae settled on the concrete closure, we did not attempt the crossing. 🙂
Instead, we turned back and returned to the car.
