The weather was quite bad on Aug. 9; it started raining in the meantime. Therefore, we only looked at the weir. We returned on the 13th and went to the bed sill on the island.
You can park at the northern bridgehead of the Görgetegi-Duna bridge, at the junction leading to the campsite.
In the village, at the junction leading to the weir, an information board shows the hiking route to the weir and to the upper bed sill (photo 2). Despite this, the signs at the parking lot indicate the island as an area accessible only with a permit (photo 3). We were brave and, following the recommendation of the sign in the village, we checked out the bed sill and then went to the tip of the island. 🙂 We walked along a fairly wide dirt road all along.
From the bridge of the weir, you can see the reservoir and the bike path running on the dam. In the distance, the Bratislava TV tower appears (27.5 km away).
The bed sill presents an interesting sight. Quite large tree trunks are also caught on it. The water of the Danube is very calm in front of it.
