Via ferratas in the Montafon

In the picturesque Montafon over 20 via ferratas offer a challenging alpine experience, which are generally of moderate to difficult difficulty. It is recommended that you have previous mountaineering or climbing experience and are in good physical condition to tackle these routes safely.

The Madrisella via ferrata is particularly popular and is considered one of the most beautiful in the region. This via ferrata leads through a breathtaking alpine landscape and offers both beginners and experienced climbers an impressive experience. With its fascinating views of the surrounding mountains and well-secured passages, the Madrisella via ferrata is a rewarding challenge for adventure-seekers.

Another outstanding highlight in the Montafon is the Sulzfluh via ferrata. This via ferrata leads to the imposing Sulzfluh, a striking peak in the region. The route is characterised by challenging passages and an impressive view of the surrounding landscape. The Sulzfluh via ferrata is an ideal choice for experienced climbers looking for a demanding challenge amidst the alpine beauty of the Montafon.

Via ferratas in the Bregenzerwald

The Abendrot via ferrata at Widerschrofen near Schnepfau attracts numerous fans. Although this via ferrata only covers an altitude difference of 150 metres, it is extremely challenging and therefore only recommended for experienced via ferrata enthusiasts. The starting point is at the car park on the edge of Schnepfau. The climb begins by crossing steep rock faces and requires considerable arm strength right from the start. The challenges of the Abendrot via ferrata are rewarded by the impressive views and the unique surroundings of the Widerschrofen.

The Karhorn near Warth is another popular mountain in the Bregenzerwald for via ferrata enthusiasts. There are several variants here, making it possible to visit more often and take on a new challenge each time. From the mountain station of the Steffisalp Express, you can choose between the ascent via the east or west ridge. After the descent to the Warterhornsattel, the trail leads back to the mountain station, from where you can take the lift back to Warth in comfort. The flexibility of the route choice and the easily accessible mountain station make the Karhorn an attractive destination for via ferrata enthusiasts.

Via ferrata in Kleinwalsertal

Also the Kleinwalsertal also harbours treasures for via ferrata fans, such as the two-country via ferrata built in 2007. This short, but racy via ferrata is located in the immediate vicinity of the Kanzelwand cable car. The approach is short, but the climb is athletically designed, making it an appealing challenge. The location close to the Kanzelwand cable car makes it easy to get to and also offers the opportunity to combine the day with other activities in the region.

From Kleinwalsertal to Rätikon and the Rhine Valley

High above Kleinwalsertal on the Mindelheim via ferrata and the Kanzelwand two-country via ferrata, for example, you can enjoy spectacular views of the main Alpine ridge. In 2005, the Sulzfluh via ferrata was built through the southern flank of the Sulzfluh (2817 m) in the Rätikon. Follow in the footsteps of smugglers in the Gargellner Köpfen. The Rhine Valley and Lake Constance can be seen during the ascent on the Via Kessi, Via Kapf and Via Örfla routes.

Tour Anfang Mai gemacht.

Amazing. Approach - about 2h (towards 2,5), klettersteig itself - 2 h, exit took us more than 2 hours. So if you take early lift (we started walking at 9am), then you can catch the last one down. It’s beautiful, has high variety, great views, interesting climbing.

Tolle Klettersteige!
