Winter hikes in Vorarlberg

Numerous hiking trails take winter excursionists in Vorarlberg to scenic spots amidst a winter landscape. The well-developed network of signposted winter hiking trails is also an asset during winter; guided winter hiking tours are also offered in many places: From easy strolls in the valley to demanding tours, there is something for everyone here. 
Along the routes, there are always cozy places to stop and interesting sights that make the effort more than worthwhile. 

Whether you want to go to Sonnenkopf or through the Klostertal, from Egg to Andelsbuch or to the Gaßner Alp in St. Gerold to enjoy the wonderful panoramic view up there:

Anyone spending more time outdoors in winter must mainly ensure sufficient warmth:
thick socks, warm underwear, water-repellent and breathable pants and jacket, gloves, hat – and of course winter hiking boots that keep the feet dry and warm.
Then nothing stands in the way of the winter experience in fresh cold air - neither going up nor coming down. 

With the right equipment, a winter hike can also be combined with a tobogganing session: 
In the Brandnertal for example, there is a toboggan safari to experience, where rapid descents alternate with relaxing walking sections. From the mountain station, you start tobogganing, then hike up repeatedly in between, then toboggan the entire length down to the valley station and return to the starting point by bus. 

Tip: the night toboggan safari
Take the cable car up, enjoy a hot tea, trek through the winter night with a headlamp and guide, and then speed down with the toboggan.
