This hike has amazing views at the top. But you have to walk for about 6km in the forest before getting there. NOTE: the marked path misses the most beautiful part of this hike; so when you get to the highest point, continue upwards to the cross, then continue on to the fortress ruins. The views of Mont Blanc are amazing!

Really nice! Especially if you make a detour to the little bar at the end of the road of the lake. We had a real ball there while seeking shelter for heavy rain. This is the pass where Hannibal crossed the alps! Wonderful strange art for children to explain this beside the trail. The abandoned military huts halfway the pass are wonderfully eerily. Be prepared for the Archeboc hut! Owners are really nice if you are nice to them! Otherwise they rather see you go. So… take off your shoes and have some basic decency. This is the Mountains not a Hotel!!!! Very small hut so you need to reserve. Great food ( sausisssons de chamois).

Nice, easy family walk. Worth exploring the valley beyond the refugi, on the way to the col. Path partly gone on the descent (one section really wet/muddy), but you always have the main track as an alternative.

A nice hike. There first half is on a wide 4WD path, so not challenging. But the views are getting better and better. The 2nd half is great: views, waterfalls, a wonderful lake. NOTE to self: it is probably possible to get to the lake from above (maybe path 14), thus bypassing the wide road at the beginning.

An awesome hike. A "must do" in this area. This hike has everything: great views from the start, waterfalls, nice scenery, a beautiful lake. NOTE: the hike is easier than it seems, because the path is convenient and gentle and because the lake is actually about 90 meters below the marked end point. NOTE 2: if you are happy with untreated water, there are many streams where you can fill up.
