A spectacular circular route to the mighty cascades of the Rutor stream, which is also very suitable as a bad weather hike.
There are five cascades on the "Torrente Rutor" in total, with the third and highest on this circular route by far the tallest and most impressive. Particularly at the time of snowmelt, huge amounts of water thunder down here creating spray that makes photographing close-up almost impossible. You keep stopping again and again, marveling at this spectacle as if spellbound – first ascending from afar and opposite from a distance and finally on an airy footbridge directly over the waterfall and in its spray…
Author’s recommendation
You can also extend this round to an interesting full-day trip via Lago dei Seracchi, the Deffeyes refuge, and Lac du Glacier.

Tips and suggestions
Mont CramontRoadbook
From the parking lot in La Joux, walk uphill along the trail into the valley, passing a restaurant. Behind it, follow a track leading to the hamlet of Soudara, where a hiking path begins (signposts "Cascate"), which is clearly marked and ascends in several stages. Stay always on the same side of the stream until you reach a viewpoint directly opposite the third and highest waterfall. From here, continue a bit further uphill to a fork in the path, where you keep left ("La Joux") and after a few meters stand on an airy bridge directly over the waterfall.
For the return, cross this bridge and follow the path on the other side of the stream downhill in switchbacks, always following the signposts "La Joux" until you return to the starting point.
