    Ich bin den Höhenweg im Juli 2018 gegangen und habe ihn ebenfalls in 3 Etappen aufgeteilt. Übernachtet habe ich auf dem Campingplatz am Weißenstädter See und am Fichtelsee (beide empfehlenswert). Um zum Fichtelsee zu kommen, habe ich am Seehaus den Weg verlassen und bin abgestiegen. Dadurch hatte meine Tour insgesamt 5 km und 200 HM rauf und runter mehr. Die Route ist meistens gut ausgeschildert, an ein paar Ecken aber eben nicht. Daher war ich sehr froh, dass ich die Route offline gespeichert hatte. Man läuft die meiste Zeit alleine über verschiedene Arten von wegen von Straße über Forstweg bis zum kleinen schmalen und holprigen Wanderweg. Menschen trifft man am Waldstein, auf dem Schneeberg, am Seehaus und auf der Kösseine/Luisenburg. Wer noch Kraft hat kann auf der Luisenburg noch das Felsenlabyrinth dranhängen. Die Tour war für mich als untrainierte Person mit 12 kg Rucksack gut machbar, am dritten Tag war ich allerdings schon sehr erschöpft. Die schönsten Ausblicke hat man auf dem Waldstein, Rudolphstein, Nußhardt, Kösseine, Haberstein. Der Schneeberg ist für mich das unspecktakulärste und ich fand es sehr schade, dass der Ochsenkopf nicht auf der Strecke liegt.

    Sehr schöne Tour mit beeindruckenden Burgruinen - insbesondere am Waldstein. Wie aus einem Märchen! Ja, die vielen Forststraßen trüben etwas die Wanderfreude. Dafür ist die Natur um einen herum schlichtweg atemberaubend. Auch ich habe mich an der ein oder anderen Stelle verlaufe, da die GPS Daten einen teilweise in die Irre führen. Grundsätzlich sind sie aber eine gute Orientierung, daher "Verschollen gehen" ausgeschlossen. Die Strecke war aufgrund der kleineren Umwege dann am Ende genau 23 km lang. Noch eine Anmerkung: Nicht von der Schwierigkeitsstufe "schwer" abschrecken lassen. Prinzipiell sind die Wege bestens zu gehen. Die Höhenmeter sind überschaubar und verteilen sich gut. Und die Länge der Tour geht auch - wobei alles natürlich relativ ist ;-) Mein Fazit: Top Tour. Sehr empfehlenswert!

    Sehr schöne Wanderung, mit tollen Highlights. Allerdings muss man am Waldstein/Epprechtstein mit vielen nicht vermeidbaren Forststraßen, wie auch auf dieser Wanderung, rechnen. Manchmal sieht man noch die alten schönen Wege. Sehr Schade. Als tolle Alternative auf dem Rückweg, schlage ich einen Abstecher über den Hohen Stein vor. Auch lohnt sich die Lamitzquelle, an einer Abzweigung nur 200m Umweg. Noch eine Empfehlung: Der Autor hat sich Mühe gemacht die Abzweigungen zu beschreiben. Diese verwirren zumindest mich. Bis zum Epprechtstein einfach dem N-Weg folgen, dann ist man immer richtig
