Der Track weicht in Teilen vom beschilderten Steinwaldradweg ab, verläuft aber immer parallel dazu. Ich empfehle der Beschilderung zu folgen, da man ansonsten schöne Streckenanschnitte verpasst. „Sehr empfehlenswert“

    Die erste Goldsteigetappe von Marktredwitz nach Friedenfels weiß sehr zu gefallen und macht ohne Zweifel Lust auf mehr. Breite Forst- und Wiesenwege aber auch die von den Watzmännern so sehr geschätzten schmalen Saumpfade und urigen Wurzelsteige bestimmen das Streckenprofil der 1. Etappe. Burg Weißenstein ist natürlich das absolute Highlight dieses Teilabschnittes und eine Besteigung des Bergfriedes ist sehr zu empfehlen. Aber Achtung: Am Eingang zum Bergfried stößt man sich unweigerlich den Kopf, wenn man sich nicht tief bückt. Erwähnenswert sind auch die herrlichen Fernsichten, die sich immer wieder bieten. Als Einkehrmöglichkeit ist das Marktredwitzer Haus sehr zu empfehlen, welches in der Hälfte der Wanderdistanz auf die Goldsteigwanderer wartet.
