Saarlouis is known for its impressive 17th century fortifications designed by Vauban. In the town itself, you can stroll through the charming alleys while admiring historic buildings or take a walk along the banks of the Saar River.

In Überherrn there are also many interesting sights to see. One highlight is certainly Dagstuhl Castle with its beautiful garden situated directly on a lake. Also worthwhile is a visit to the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park as well as the Old Town Hall Cultural Centre in the village of Altforweiler.

Cultural highlights are provided by regular events such as concerts or theatre performances at the Theater am Ring in Saarlouis as well as the annual Flower Festival in Überherrn.

Another important aspect of any trip is culinary experiences: In this region, hearty dishes are on the menu such as juicy meat from the grill or hearty stews with regional vegetables. A glass of wine from the nearby vineyards around the Moselle region goes perfectly with this!

If it rains, you can also enjoy yourself indoors in Überherrn and Saarlouis. How about a visit to the Haus Ludwig Museum or the Saarlouis City Museum, for example?

Overall, the region around Überherrn and Saarlouis is a wonderful destination that has something to offer for everyone: historical sights, cultural highlights, culinary delights as well as plenty of outdoor activities. Whether in summer or winter - there is always something new to discover here!

Leider viele umgefallene Bäume, was schon 2024 festgestellt wurde.

Unser GPS zeigte 12,7 Km an, also eine gute Wanderlänge.
