Traunstein is known for its breathtaking scenery surrounded by the majestic Alps. Here you can enjoy outdoor activities all year round - whether hiking, cycling or skiing. In summer, crystal-clear lakes such as the Chiemsee beckon you to swim and sail.

The town itself offers a wealth of sights and cultural highlights. Visit Traunstein Castle or stroll through the idyllic old town with its picturesque alleys and historic buildings. Another highlight are the numerous churches and monasteries, including Seeon Monastery with its impressive Romanesque basilica.

Traunstein also has plenty to offer in the way of culinary delights: Be sure to try local specialities such as veal sausage with pretzels or crispy pork knuckle.

For rainy days there are also plenty of options: Discover the city museum, for example, or visit one of the cosy cafés in the city centre.

And where is the most beautiful place? That's hard to say - every place has its own charm! But excursions to the nearby mountains and boat trips on Lake Chiemsee are particularly recommended.

All in all, Traunstein is definitely worth a trip! With this Travel Guide you now have all the important information for a successful stay. We wish you an unforgettable time in this enchanting district.
