Simmerath is located in the heart of the Eifel National Park and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The region offers a unique combination of lakes, forests and mountains - perfect for outdoor adventure lovers! A special highlight is the Rurtal valley with its picturesque river landscape.

The city itself also has a lot to offer. For example, visit the historic Monschau Castle or Zweifall Castle with its impressive gardens. Simmerath also has a lot to offer culturally: The Steinfeld Monastery now hosts a concert series as well as art exhibitions.

For culinary delights, be sure to try regional specialities such as the famous "Eifeler Döppekooche" or look forward to a cosy evening in a traditional brewery.

Even if the weather is rainy, there are plenty of options: Relax in the thermal bath Carolus Thermen Bad Aachen or visit one of the many museums such as the Ludwig Forum for International Art.

In summer you can go swimming at the Rursee or take a boat trip. In winter, the nearby Rohren ski lift is a great place to go skiing and snowboarding.

Simmerath is really worth a visit - whether you are a nature lover, interested in culture or just want to spend some relaxing days in nature. Visit us and experience the beauty of this region for yourself!
