Discover the region
In the southernmost vacation resort in Germany
Oberstdorf is the southernmost municipality in Germany. While the village itself lies at an altitude of 813 m, the neighboring peaks of the Allgäu Alps rise to over 2600 m.
A whole series of high valleys can be reached from Oberstdorf, including Breitach and Stillachtal, Oytal and Kleinwalsertal.
With around 2.4 million overnight stays a year, Oberstdorf is one of Germany's largest tourist regions - and rightly so. The climatic health resort and Kneipp spa offers its guests a comprehensive tourist infrastructure.
Active through the year
Thanks to the association with the Kleinwalsertal region, guests can enjoy a cross-border ski area with 130 km of pistes. Of course, winter sports enthusiasts can also experience the long winter season in all its facets with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter hiking.
In summer, Oberstdorf is the starting point for hikes into the valleys, to the mountain lakes or to the prominent peaks of the Allgäu main ridge such as Rubihorn, Fellhorn and Nebelhorn.
The best as guests in Oberstdorf
The most famous attraction is probably the Schattenbergschanze in the Audi Arena. The ski jumping facility has been one of the venues for the Four Hills Tournament since the 1950s and attracts numerous sports fans to the Allgäu Alps every winter.
The Heini-Klopfer ski jump rises above the Stillachtal valley. Like the Schattenbergschanze, it not only regularly attracts the elite of international skiing to Oberstdorf, but can also be visited.
