Fellhorn

Those lucky enough to stay in Oberstdorf accommodation that issues a guest card with free mountain railway use can park and ride for free with the large gondola to the mid-station of the Fellhorn gondola. 

From there, descend to the idyllic Schlappoltsee. Those who wish can ascend directly from there. We continued on to Alpe Schlappold, which offers its own products for a "snack". Here begins the ascent, which is eased at steep sections with stair steps. At the top, there is a beautiful view over Oberstdorf and the Illertal. 

We keep left and follow the ridge trail - always one foot in Austria and one in Germany! - to the Fellhorn summit. From there we follow the beautiful Fellhorn nature and flower trail - No. 1. At the junction to the ascent to Kanzelwand, we go left over Alpe Bienenwang back to the mid-station.
