Discover the region

Geographically, Hohenpeißenberg is located in the Bavarian Alps and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The region is known for its rolling hills, green meadows and crystal clear lakes - perfect for hiking or cycling during the warmer months of the year.

The area also has a lot to offer culturally. Visit Neuschwanstein Castle or Andechs Monastery with its famous brewery. For art and history lovers, there are numerous museums such as the Glentleiten open-air museum or the Penzberg museum.

If you like to party, you should plan a visit during one of the many festivals. The biggest event here is undoubtedly the Oktoberfest in Munich - just a short drive away!

Culinary delights abound here: try traditional Bavarian dishes such as pork knuckle or pretzels along with a fresh beer from a local brewery.

For outdoor fans, hikes through the mountains are a must in good weather; but if rain threatens, you can always find indoor activities such as: visits to the museums, swimming pools or bowling alleys.

Where is the best place to be in Hohenpeißenberg? That depends on your personal preferences, of course. But if we had to recommend one place, it would certainly be the viewing platform on the Hohenpeißenberg - here you have an incredible panoramic view over the Alps and the foothills of the Alps.

Whether you are an experienced traveller or just starting to travel: This region is definitely worth a visit. Use this travel guide as a starting point for your discovery tour through Hohenpeißenberg and Weilheim-Schongau!
