The Stollenweg, designed as an educational trail for mining, geology, and landscape, begins on the grounds around the Tiefstollen and the Peißenberg Mining Museum. Passing near the Sulzer tunnel and the Mittelstollen, the path leads partly steeply uphill through the forest until open terrain is reached again in Vorderschwaig. From the road to Hinterschwaig, hikers enjoy a magnificent Alpine panorama. After another, albeit relatively short, forest section, Hohenpeißenberg is reached.
In the district of Unterbau is the former Unterbaustollen, which was driven in 1847. This was 10 years after the main mine tunnel where bituminous coal mining at Hoher Peißenberg began in 1837. At Unterbau, a complete mining operation was established at the end of the 1880s, which remained in operation until 1944, employing up to 450 miners. A narrow path leads from here through the forest to the east, before passing the Weinbauer estate and the St. Georg chapel back to Peißenberg.
