Maps and trails
Geographically, Grünwald is located on the southern outskirts of Munich and is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of forests and rivers. The Isar flows through the town and offers numerous opportunities for hiking or cycling along its banks. The nearby Forstenrieder Park is also perfect for outdoor activities such as jogging or picnicking.

Grünwald is known for its historical sights such as the 14th century Grünwald Castle and Schwaneck Castle with its impressive tower. Cultural highlights include the local history museum with its exhibitions on the history of the town as well as the art association with changing exhibitions of contemporary art.

For culinary delights, be sure to visit one of the traditional Bavarian restaurants where you can try local specialities such as pork knuckle or white sausage. Another highlight are the various beer gardens in Grünwald - ideal for refreshment on warm summer days.

If it rains, a visit to the "Breitwand" cinema or the "Schlosstheater" theatre is recommended. Here, various films and performances are offered - from blockbusters to independent cinema.

The best thing about Grünwald is that you can enjoy nature. The Isar cycle path and Forstenrieder Park are particularly recommended in summer, while in winter a hike through the snow-covered forest is an unforgettable experience.

In summary, Grünwald is definitely worth a visit! The combination of historical sights, cultural highlights, culinary delights and outdoor activities makes this place a unique destination for all kinds of travellers.
