Discover the region

Dachau is best known for the former concentration camp that gained sad notoriety during the Second World War. Today it serves as a memorial and museum, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. But the city has much more to offer: Historical buildings such as Dachau Castle or the city parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary are also worth seeing.

If you are interested in culture, you should definitely visit the district museum - here you can learn all about the history of the region. Numerous events also take place regularly: The folk festival in September attracts many visitors every year.

Culinary Dachau has a lot to offer: From traditional Bavarian dishes to international specialities, you will find everything your heart desires.

Outdoor activities are not neglected either: in summer you can go hiking or cycling along the Amper river; in winter the skiing area at Brauneck invites you to winter sports.

And if it rains? Then we recommend a visit to the indoor swimming pool "Hallenbad Campeo" with sauna area - pure relaxation!

In conclusion, Dachau is definitely worth a trip. Whether as a day trip or for a longer stay, everyone will find something to their liking here. As a travel guide, we definitely recommend a visit to the memorial site as well as the castle and the city parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. But the region also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine and sports - so let's go!
