One of the cultural highlights of this region are the historic half-timbered houses. Particularly worth seeing are Fallingbostel Castle and the St. Johannis Church in Bispingen. Various museums such as the Kunsthaus Meyenburg or the open-air museum at the Kiekeberg also offer an insight into the history of the region.

For culinary delights, you should definitely try a traditional Heidschnuckenbratwurst - an absolute delicacy!

Outdoor activities are available here at any time of year: in summer you can enjoy wonderful hiking or cycling through the vast heath landscapes, while in winter skiing is possible on the Snow Dome. For adrenaline junkies, there is also a ride on the toboggan run.

Even if it should rain, you don't have to miss out on activities: In Bispingen, for example, there is an indoor playground as well as a fun pool with sauna facilities.

It is particularly beautiful here in spring at the time of the Heide Blossom Festival, which attracts thousands of tourists every year. But a visit is also worthwhile in autumn - then the landscape turns into a colourful sea of deciduous and coniferous trees.

Bispingen and Soltau-Fallingbostel are definitely worth a trip and offer something for everyone. A travel guide who doesn't have this region on their list is definitely missing out!

    Schöne Route. Aber kurz vor Kilometer 63 sollte man nicht in den Wald abbiegen, sondern durch die Stadt fahren. Siehe mein angehängtes Bild. Da nicht die blaue Route, sondern die rote Route nehmen. Im Wald war sehr sehr sandiger Boden.

    Die Wanderung ist sehr schön. Nach der Hälfte kann man eine Pause im Restaurant am Heidemuseum machen. Es sind auch viele Biker auf dem Weg unterwegs , das ist manchmal etwas nervig. Wir waren mit Hund unterwegs, das ging gut. Auch das Restaurant ist auf Hunde eingestellt.

    A good route through the nature reserve with decent paths for Mountain Bikes and Hybrids. Lots of nature to see and a good fun ride throughout. Slightly let down by one area being essentially a forest gap where a truck has driven through a couple of times and so very over grown whilst another area was soft sand which had all riders falling off and having to push. We went through on e-bikes so apart from the stated issues the ride was simple and the timing spot on so thank you for the route.
