Unlimited activities in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park
The municipality of Balderschwang is the only one of the five pretty Hörner villages in the Allgäu to be located entirely in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park, a species-rich Alpine paradise without equal. Hikes over sunny terraced paths and along refreshing mountain streams, walking or biking tours in front of a fabulous Alpine panorama are a pleasure here. You will never be overwhelmed, as the numerous rustic alpine huts always invite you to take a leisurely break.
Tradition sounds good in Balderschwang
At the same time, the soul also finds nourishment, for example during an inspiring visit to the over 2000-year-old yew tree on the outskirts of Balderschwang. Or you can listen to the moving calls of the alphorns, dozens of which resound from the slopes during the annual Alphorniade.
No less traditional, but of a completely different kind, is the sound of the cattle drive: then the cow bells ring, the bands play and people celebrate the alpine summer together. In Balderschwang, you can experience first-hand what the tradition of the cattle drive is all about.
Snow in Balderschwang - fast on the slopes, quiet in nature
Of course, the radius of movement is by no means limited in winter. Balderschwang is called "Bavarian Siberia" with a wink, and its abundance of snow has become almost proverbial.
A good 30 kilometers of pistes, three chairlifts and countless drag lifts transform the mountains into a skiing and snowboarding Eldorado - in the ski kindergarten even for "crawling" ski bunnies.
Or you can enjoy the glistening white flakes and snowy winter splendor on a snowshoe hike or romantically snuggled up in a horse-drawn sleigh.
