Discover the region

Altenglan is located in the heart of the Palatinate Forest and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The region offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or fishing. In summer, you can refresh yourself on the many lakes in the area or take a boat trip.

The town itself also has a lot to offer. Lichtenberg Castle from the 12th century is a must for anyone interested in history. Here you will also find the German Mill Museum with its impressive exhibits on the subject of milling.

Culture lovers should definitely visit the exhibitions in the Glantal Art House or take part in a guided tour of the historic old town. In the run-up to Christmas, Altenglan is transformed into a winter wonderland with a Christmas market full of treats and gift ideas.

For gourmets, the region offers some culinary delights such as Saumagen (a type of stuffed pork stomach), Dampfnudeln (a sweet yeast pastry) and, of course, the famous Palatinate wine.

But what to do when it rains? No problem! Visit the Monte Mare leisure pool with its various pools and slides or relax with a massage in the wellness area.

Where is it most beautiful in Altenglan? We recommend a walk through the spa gardens or a hike on the premium hiking trail "Pfälzer Höhenweg".

Overall, Altenglan, Kusel is definitely worth a trip. With its diverse activities and sights, the region offers something for everyone. We hope this guide will help you plan your next trip!
