The Hautes-Pyrénées: a very evocative name! This département is home to the highest peaks in the Pyrenees, the mountain range that forms a natural border with Spain.
If you like to challenge yourself or have always been attracted by the most beautiful panoramas, you've come to the right place! Many of the peaks are over 2000 metres high, such as the famous Pic du Midi de Bigorre (2877 m), while others are over 3000 metres high, such as the famous Vignemale (3298 m).
Whether it's a day hike or several days on the gande traversée des Pyrénées (Haute Randonnée Pyrénéenne (HRP)), the grandeur of nature awaits you in the Hautes-Pyrénées!
