The varied circular route around Lake Hopfensee offers beautiful views of the Allgäu Alps.
Without having to undertake any ascent yourself, you are still very close to the mountains on this round around the lake. The path is completely cleared and gritted and can be walked in both directions – always directly along the shore. Variety is guaranteed: Through Hopfen, numerous places to stop invite you along the sunny beach promenade. On the southern shore, however, it is quieter, and birds can be observed in the reeds or you can simply enjoy the tranquility of the forest.

Safety information
In winter, paths or path sections can be snow-covered, frozen, and/or icy at any time due to weather conditions. This may require additional equipment such as hiking poles and crampons (very light crampons) to walk the path. Occasionally, paths or path sections may not be passable at all because it is too icy, there is too much snow, or the clearing vehicles are still busy clearing only the most urgent streets and squares. Please take note and thank you for your understanding. It is best to check the situation directly on-site or in advance. On the website there is an interactive map view with current notices, reports, and possible closures of winter hiking trails. This is kept up to date and thus provides a good basis for planning a winter hike and offers inspiration for outdoor activities.
