Have you always wanted to go up high and discover Munich from a different perspective?
Along the university district, Munich city center, and Munich East, you stop at various viewpoints offering a unique panoramic view over the city.
From the Theresienstraße U-Bahn station, you reach Café Vorhoelzer on the fifth floor of the Technical University of Munich. It offers a relaxed student atmosphere, various drinks and snacks, and a great view over Munich stretching to the Alps.
The route then leads towards Marienplatz, known as the urban heart of the city for locals and tourists alike, featuring many traditional department stores. After taking the elevator to the tower of the New Town Hall and then climbing the 306 steps to the tower of the Old Peter, you are rewarded at both viewpoints with magnificent panoramic views over the old town and the bustling Munich life. You can also spot distant sights such as the Peace Angel, the English Garden, the Olympic Complex, Bavaria as Bavaria's secular patron saint, Allianz Arena, the Hi-Sky Ferris wheel, and much more. In close proximity is also the Café Glockenspiel above the roofs of Munich.
Back down, you stroll through the Viktualienmarkt, Munich's culinary center, and continue along the Reichenbach Bridge, connecting the city districts of Isarvorstadt on the left bank and Au on the right bank of the Isar.
Aftersome minutes' walk, you arrive at the Werksviertel in eastern Munich which has the motto "compact, urban, green". For a special tour finale, a 30-minute ride on the Hi-Sky, the world's largest transportable Ferris wheel, awaits.
