Fischbrunnen

Was muss man also für ein finanziell sorgenfreies Jahr tun?

The "Bürgerbrunnen" / "Marktbrunnen", built in 1343, was replaced by Konrad Knoll as a fish fountain in 1865.

The fountain also has traditions. The butcher's apprentices were acquitted on Rose Monday until the Second World War. According to legend, the Fischbrunnen at Marienplatz can help to make a year without financial worries on a very special day of the year - Ash Wednesday.

So what do you have to do for a financially carefree year?

The recipe for financial happiness here - in contrast to other money issues - is quite simple:

Take your wallet and wash it out carefully in the fish fountain and (financial) luck is guaranteed!

The mayor also takes part in the custom and washes his empty city bag in the well. This tradition originally comes from the 15th century.

Try it!

The fountain also runs in winter and icicles build around the fish and the boys.
