Detailed description of the route
In the center of Monoszló, at the intersection of Fő utca and Templom utca, we start on Templom utca following the S trail. After the church, we turn left at a former weighing scale used for measuring crops. We run through a charming, leafy section as we leave the village. The asphalt changes to gravel and gently ascends, with a meadow on the left and an orchard on the right beside the road, which begins to descend after its gate. At the curve behind the orchard, turning right, we leave the S trail and cross a long, narrow group of trees on an unmarked dirt road. We start ascending on its left side, passing by a large almond grove. Looking back, the view of Lake Balaton becomes increasingly beautiful, with Badacsony visible in the distance on the right. Continuing uphill, we reach the topmost part of a loosely rocky and shrubby meadow, then after one last panoramic glance, we turn right onto the K and P trails.
We run along a huge enclosed field, then enter the forest, continuing on a comfortable two-track forest road. Reaching a wide gravel road, we turn left and after 100 m at the Pirkanc sign turning left at the junction, starting the upper, smaller loop on the K trail. We stay on the K trail for about 800 m, then at the Csicsói Forest sign, we turn right onto the Z trail, reaching a sparser section after about 400 m. At the crossroads, we turn right and continue on the P trail. We continue on a comfortable forest road and soon return to Pirkanc to close the smaller loop.
On the already familiar forest section marked K and P, we run back to the corner of the large fenced field, where we turn left onto the K◼ trail. We run comfortably on a two-track forest road past the mostly reed-covered Hegyi Lake. From the lake, the road begins to ascend for a stretch, then between Taróra Hill on the left and Tó Hill on the right, we start descending on a rocky, single-track trail. We wind through a narrow, small erosion valley, followed by a sometimes exposed section with a deep valley on the right side – here we should run more cautiously. The trail widens and becomes a gravel road, on which we arrive back in Monoszló. Turning onto the Fő utca on the K◼ trail, we run back to the starting point.
