Treasure Island in the Vine Sea: Geo Adventure Trail
Along the most beautiful paths through the vineyards and the ancient Roman vineyard at Weilberg, richly illustrated panels open windows into the dramatic past and valuable knowledge. Sometimes it goes back millions of years to the birth of sandstone and the Palatinate Forest, sometimes to the Romans when they lived and celebrated in the luxurious villa at Weilberg. You learn where the origins of the Wurstmarkt lie and how the Saline valley once looked when not one but six monumental, hundreds of meters long graduation towers helped to produce "White Gold."

The vineyards are partly cultivated with large machines (harvesters, narrow-gauge tractors, etc.). Drivers have many blind spots where they cannot see hikers and other pedestrians. Please pay attention to machine noises and behave cautiously and considerately.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forest work or hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please observe the instructions for your own safety.
