Through forest and fields - circular route between Dächingen and Altsteußlingen

On the way through the landscape of the Ehinger Alb characterized by forest and wide fields, you pass by various human interventions in nature created at different times.

The former clay pit recalls the tradition of brick making in Dächingen. The "Riedkapelle", built in 1885 as a courtyard chapel, stands on the site of a pilgrimage chapel mentioned in documents as early as 1749 and demolished in 1848, whose image of grace now stands in the Dächingen church. In contrast, the "Maria am Weg" chapel was newly built in 2010.

The Steinriegel – shaped like a footprint – is typical for the dry stone walls collected on the Swabian Alb and contributes as a biotope to the preservation of biodiversity. Native herbs and medicinal plants grow in a herb bed. As ecological compensation for the industrial area of the Liebherr company in Ehingen, among other things, the Riedgraben with the Stegbrunnen was renaturalized.
