The Mrzli studenec educational path is a circular route running through dense spruce forests and equipped with informational boards. It is suitable for visitors of all ages.
The path is located on Pokljuka - a karst plateau of basin shape covered in forest. It is the largest plateau in the Julian Alps. Glacial shaping and alpine farming give it a completely alpine appearance. The rich history of the plateau is evidenced by numerous archaeological sites.
The sensitivity of the mountain environment requires a respectful visitor. Stay on marked trails and contribute importantly to preserving the habitat of the capercaillie and black grouse as well as the high marshes!

Safety information
The most suitable time of year to visit the path is during the dry season. Due to the marshy surfaces, the terrain can be quite wet after rain.The path can be icy in winter, winter hiking equipment is recommended.

Roadbook
The route starts at Mrzli studenec, from where signs direct us into the forest (at the crossroads Mrzli studenec - Bohinj-Boh. Bistrica-Koprivnik). Then we follow the markers. At Grajska planina, the path turns right, where we return alongside the Bled Marsh to the main road. There, the path turns into the forest and continues back to Mrzli studenec.

Directions
You can reach Mrzli studenec on Pokljuka from the directions:
- Bled: Follow the main road towards Gorje. Drive through Gorje and continue towards Pokljuka, then through Zatrnik follow signs to the Pokljuka plateau, where signs will direct you to Mrzli studenec.
- Bohinj: start the route in Bohinjska Bistrica, head towards Jerka, then through Jerka and Gorjuše, all the way to Pokljuka. At the Pokljuka plateau follow signs for Mrzli studenec.
In both cases, check road conditions and weather, and follow the signs directing you to the destination.
