UFFBASSE! — A campaign for considerate coexistence with nature
- Be considerate while out and about —always act thoughtfully, kindly, and considerately toward everyone you meet along the way. This is especially important on farm roads, where winemakers, farmers, and foresters work even on weekends.
- Picnics & Trash— Remember to bring a trash bag with you and take your trash home with you. Use only the designated rest areas for breaks and picnics.
- Keep Dogs on a Leash – Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will appreciate it.
We—your fellow visitors and nature—appreciate it!

Safety information
Use of Farm Roads —Our tours through the vineyards often take us along paths that we share with others. We therefore ask that you always be considerate and friendly toward others. Winemakers, farmers, and foresters use these farm roads through fields, forests, and vineyards for their daily work—including on weekends. Due to work activities and/or weather conditions, the trails may be particularly muddy at times. Extra caution is also required when crossing roads in and around the Palatinate villages. Trail closures and detours must be strictly observed.Dangerous Situations – Should an emergency arise, quick assistance is essential. And even though cell phones can transmit GPS signals, traditional emergency points are often the fastest way to get help. These are located in places that are easily accessible to emergency vehicles. Make a note of the locations marked with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return to one of these locations and provide the number on the sign when you call 911. This way, emergency responders will know where to find you.

Roadbook
After about 250 m, turn left and head downhill through the vineyard, cross the street, and continue across the Birnbach stream. The trail now runs for a short distance along the edge of the vineyard and past the “Sonnenplätzl” multi-generational park, across the Weinstraße, and back into the vineyards of the Leinsweiler Sonnenberg wine-growing area.
The Wine Trail now curves past additional information boards to the edge of the forest, then continues along Slevogtstraße past the cemetery, and returns to the German Wine Route until it reaches the tour’s starting and ending point at City Hall.

Equipment
Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, and a sufficient supply of food and—most importantly—drinks should be packed in your backpack for every hike, since places to stop for a bite to eat or shop aren’t always available or open. Although the trail is marked throughout, you should always carry a suitable map or a hiking app with you for safety reasons.Human-created
