Roadbook
Parking lot about one kilometer before the state border on the road from Pfronten-Steinach to Grän (1001 m) – follow the summer path: west over the Kotbach bridge – to the forest edge – follow the path to the left/south – Pfrontner Alpe (1456 m) – saddle between Pirschling and Schönkahler – over a broad ridge north to the summit (1687 m) – descent the same way as ascent.

By train to Pfronten-Ried station and by bus to the Steinach ski area. Parking lot not ideally accessible by public transport.
Directions
Via A 7 to the Oy-Mittelberg exit and via the B 309 country road to Pfronten-Steinach. Follow Achtal road to just before the border.
