From the farmstead in Neuhaus, follow the forest road through the Toferntal to the Oberharbachalm and further to the two Tofernalm huts. Behind the upper Tofernalm, continue along the path towards Tofernscharte, but after a few minutes, turn right behind a distinctive ditch. Now, ascend over the increasingly steep exposed eastern slopes to the summit. At the summit is the Badgasteiner Hut, which is closed during the winter.
