Schwarzatal-Schluchsee loop

The tour starts at the bus stop and first takes you onto the Schwarzatalstraße, a completely car-free road running through the core zone of the Schwarzatal Nature Reserve. Here you can ride undisturbed, enjoy nature, and stop at any opportunity to use the quiet, idyllic spots for resting and lingering. After about 7 km, you reach the Schlüchttal-Schluchtstraße. Around 39 km into the tour, the Rothaus beer garden awaits – a perfect spot for a short break to recharge and enjoy the Black Forest ambiance. A cool drink or a small snack gives you the necessary boost for the upcoming elevation gain.

From kilometer 51.6, the pass road from Äule to Menzenschwand begins. The ascent through Äule is a dream for all who want to feel their legs – perfect to prepare for the two hairpin bends that gain considerable height. Once at the top, a spectacular view awaits you before the descent to Menzenschwand provides another highlight of the tour.

The loop finally ends at the bus stop where it all started. With a total of 66.6 km, 1,080 meters of elevation, and a varied mix of car-free roads, gorges, pass roads, and cozy beer garden stops, this tour offers both a sporting challenge and natural enjoyment.
