Cella Monte ring path - Path 731 on foot
Path without particular difficulties, also passable by mountain bike.
The itinerary starts from the equipped area near Cascina Sardegna, on the outskirts of Cella Monte; it follows the main road of the village, characterized by typical houses built with corner stone or tuff, until reaching the small Piazza del Bollo, which preserves the ancient washhouse and the well.
Turn left, entering via Gian Giacomo Francia and after a few meters turn left again, leaving the built-up area and descending on a small asphalt road that later becomes dirt and leads towards the underlying Valle Carcanara; on the hill opposite you can admire the town of Rosignano Monferrato.
Arriving in the valley bottom, you find the small Rio Carcana that borders the path on the right for a short stretch; turn right and immediately left onto a road that goes straight, bordering the stream, through the fresh valley characterized by meadows, vineyards, and truffle grounds.
At the next intersection, turn left, climbing towards the asphalted road, where you turn left again; from here you can appreciate the entire surrounding panorama, with the villages of Treville and Cereseto, the Sanctuary of Crea, and on days with good visibility, a good portion of the Alpine arc.
At the next fork, take the small road to the right that leads to the Cascine Savoia and past the houses, proceed slightly downhill until you reach a gravel road that shortly leads to the ancient Valpane farmhouse, surrounded by vineyards; just before the farmhouse, turn left, and at the rear of it, take a grassy path that gently descends to a subsequent intersection where, near a fenced truffle ground, turn right, entering the lower Canneto road.
Once on the asphalt road, turn left, as well as at the next intersection, and continue climbing on asphalt, passing the Case Varocara cluster; shortly after, leave the asphalt taking the dirt road on the left now dominated by the village of Cella Monte.
You reach an asphalt road again on the outskirts of the village where you turn right and immediately after take Via Marconi to the left that climbs towards the village center; turning first right and then immediately left you return to Piazza del Bollo, thus closing the circular route.
