Watzmann - two-day circuit

In the morning at about 0630 we will leave the car park in Wimbachbrücke along route 441. Pass through the Wimbachklamm gorge (open daily 0700-1900), continue upstream of the Wimbach stream, climbing gently for about 10 km until you reach a crossroads where you turn left and begin a sharp climb up the rocky terrain. After approx. 2 Km we reach the road, which is insured with steel ropes. in approx. 3 hours we reach the southern summit of Watzmann - Watzmann-Südspitze 2710m. From here a ferrata, categorized as "B" leads to the middle peak of Watzmann - Watzmann Mittelspitze (2713m). This ridge is about 1 km long. From here we will descend about 700 vertical metres on a 3km long route until we reach the Watzmannhaus hut, where we have booked accommodation and dinner. The next day, after breakfast, we will descend about 7 km back to the car park to Wimbachbrücke
