CAMINS
We start the stage with a transfer from Caldes de Boí to Presa Cavallers.
We start the route at Presa Cavallers. The path leads us towards the upper basin of the Caldes riverbank. The herds going to graze in the Val d'Aran meadows also use this route to cross the Port de Caldes towards Colomèrs.
This is one of the most beautiful and spectacular high mountain stages of the whole route. During the first part of the stage we ascend to Port de Caldes (2,567m), one of the main mountain passes in the Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, which connects the Ribagorzano valley of Caldes with the aranés sector of Colomers.
After Port de Caldes towards Colomers, we will discover one of the best high mountain circuits in the Pyrenees. In the middle of an extraordinary natural environment, inside the wonderful Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, we discover the spectacular Colomèrs cirque to enjoy one of the largest concentrations of crystal-clear glacial lakes in the Pyrenees, with beautiful lakes of very different shapes and sizes. In turn, the Gran Tuc de Colomèrs, Tuc de Ratera, Tuc de Sendrosa, Creu de Colomèrs... are some of the mountains around 3,000 m altitude that define the Colomèrs cirque, a grand natural amphitheater.

Equipment
MOUNTAIN FOOTWEAR (mountain boot or shoe)
In each stage and depending on the condition of the terrain and/or weather forecast, the type of shaft height of the footwear (boot or shoe) will be recommended.
CLOTHING
Since the routes run through a medium and high mountain environment, and it is a territory where the climate can change quickly and drastically, WE RECOMMEND the following elements regardless of the route difficulty:
- Second body layer, thermal layer consisting of a thin/medium fleece or long-sleeve thermal shirt.
- First body layer (shirt) short-sleeved, breathable and quick-drying (tank tops are not recommended as they are not suitable for carrying backpacks).
- Long pants. If the characteristics of the route combined with the expected weather allow the use of short pants, a piece to cover the rest of the leg left uncovered will always be carried, either a second pair of pants or long leggings in the backpack.
- Third body layer, waterproof and windproof rain jacket with hood.
- Cap / Buff or similar for sun protection.
Although some of these garments may not be used during the itinerary, it is recommended to carry them in the backpack throughout the journey, ready to use in case of weather changes or any unforeseen event, to avoid hypothermia in case of weather change or incident that prolongs the day.
MINIMUM BACKPACK CONTENT
- Mountain backpack of 20-30 liters with waterproof cover.
- Personal first aid kit with special medications if required.
- Water (minimum 2 liters, but this will be confirmed in the informational talk).
- Food (depending on the duration of the route).
- Sunscreen, cap/hat and sunglasses.
- Documentation and charged phone.
