Refugio con servicio de comida y bebida, mantas, WC y ducha de agua caliente. El refugio de emergencia está abierto fuera de temporada, cuando el refugio principal no está guardado, tiene capacidad para 6 personas y está equipado con colchones, mantas (no hay luz ni calefacción) y una emisora de emergencia.
Para pernoctar en el refugio es necesario reservar previamente. El acceso a pie desde el aparcamiento del embalse de Cavallers dura de dos a tres horas.
El Refugi Ventosa i Calvell forma parte de la ruta “Carros de Foc”, la popular travesía de montaña circular que une los nueve refugios del parque natural.
