Tre Cime del Bondone Circuit - from Cornetto to Cima Verde
Nice trekking to the Tre Cime del Bondone with equipped path
The Tre Cime del Bondone Circuit is the most traveled and renowned trekking route in the Trento area, probably the most interesting in the entire Bondone – Stivo mountain group.
The itinerary passes through Cornetto, Doss D’Abramo, and Cima Verde, the three peaks surrounding the large meadow expanse of the Viote.
The route offers magnificent views of the Brenta groups, Adamello, Presanella, Carè Alto, Gavardina Alps, Lake Garda, Sarca Valley, Vallagarina, and Adige Valley. In short, a true balcony over Trentino just a stone’s throw from the city.

Tips and suggestions

You start westward along the forest path leading to the wide meadows of the Viote - Torbiera delle Viote – following trail marker 607. Continue either on trail 607 or southwest along the beautiful mule track until you reach the "Bocca dei Vaioni" (1695m).
Now turn left heading south following trail 618 which immediately joins trail 607. Continue uphill towards Monte Cornetto. The path is initially rocky but, once out of the vegetation, it proceeds on easier terrain along the panoramic Costa dei Cavai, the ridge that leads directly to the foot of Cornetto’s northern slope.
Here is a fork where you continue straight uphill on trail 617. The path crosses the west side of Cornetto and reaches the southern ridge. Once on the ridge, turn left and quickly reach the summit of Cornetto (2180m) by short and easy rocky climbs.
Descend along the ascent path to the fork located below Cornetto’s northern slope.
Now proceed right (east) along trail 636 and, passing by a providential and incredible spring, quickly reach the base of the west face of Doss D’Abramo. Now there are two options:
- Equipped with proper gear (see equipment note) climb the short via ferrata and continue on the path to the summit marked by a large iron cross (2140m). From the summit cross, briefly retrace your steps and enter the southeast gully that descends over rocky ledges (cable); at its end, go left (east) along the ledge served by a steel cable - trail 638A. At the end of the gully, be careful not to take the difficult and steep Ferrata Segata by turning right (west). At the end of the ledge, you return to trail 636.
- Avoid ascending Doss D’Abramo by going left on trail 636 which bypasses the Doss d’Abramo summit on its north side, taking a comfortable path that reconnects with the route towards Cima Verde.
Continue northeast along the ridge that quickly leads to Cima Verde (2102m). From here, descend following trail 636, initially across meadows and then through a dense dwarf pine forest. The path is quite rocky and uncomfortable, sometimes slippery when wet.
At the bottom of the path, turn right onto the "Sentiero Naturalistico delle Viote" (636).
After crossing some wide meadows, return to the starting point following the track that slightly veers left, avoiding trail 636 which continues far right (east) toward the Alpine Ecology Center.

User Questions
Cordiali saluti
