The ascent to Hocheck is a long, challenging path that is only partially secured with fixed ropes. Due to the length (1950 m elevation gain)
and altitude, the route should not be underestimated.

Roadbook
From the Hammerstiel parking lot to the Watzmannhaus, the route is well signposted. From Hammerstiel, follow a forest road to a crossroads, then turn right towards the Watzmannhaus. Continue on the forest road past the material cable car, Mitterkaseralm, a climate station, and to Falzalm. From here, a path leads further to the Watzmannhaus. From the Watzmannhaus, path No. 441 leads over alpine terrain, partly secured with fixed ropes, to Hocheck.
On the descent, return to the Watzmannhaus and continue to Falzalm. From here, descend as on the ascent or take path
No. 442. The partly secured path leads towards Kühroint. At the 1465 m point, an unmarked
path branches off downhill; follow this and at the next junction turn right - downhill. The path leads to the Kühroint forest road,
which returns to the starting point.
