The Hirschwieskopf or Hirschwiese lies south of the three peaks of the Watzmann crossing and is reached via the Trischübel. That means: First, you go through the entire Wimbachgries. After the Wimbachgries hut, the hiking trail becomes steeper, at one point secured with a rope, leading up to the Trischübel, an important junction in the Berchtesgaden Alps. After the hidden service hut, the path leads in switchbacks over the steep alpine grassy slopes of the Hirschwieskopf.
Only at the summit does the path level off again.
