Descent: If you have time and still good stamina, do not descend via the ascent route, but after a short descent to the main trail, continue south along it. You pass the Grünlahnereck and reach the extensive saddle near the Wiesbauer high pasture hut (1481 m) and a forestry service hut. You cross this saddle and then have to ascend to the meadow slope below the Moosenalm. Then you must pay close attention to the trail: just before the Moosenalm, at about 1560 m altitude, the path branches left, initially leading into open forest and then over flat mountain meadows into almost pathless terrain until you reach the Klausenloch and the remains of an old timber floating lock. The old floating trail is only decayed in short sections and overall still fairly well passable. It descends alongside the wild course of the Moosbach, once used for timber floating. Finally, the route crosses the stream and brings us down into the shaded mixed forest of the Krottenbachtal valley. In the valley, continue north above the gorge of the Krottenbach on a forest road to a fork. Turn left there towards the Wiesalm and along the narrow, steep road back to the starting point.
