From Slovenská Ľupča to Donovaly and back via Hiadeľ Saddle

The trip starts in Slovenská Ľupča. We set off on the road to Ľupča Castle. We continue along a field road to the village of Podkonice. The first beautiful panorama opens up with a view of Krížna and Ľupča Castle.

In the village of Podkonice we join an existing cycling route towards the village. We choose the easiest gear and face a 2-kilometer climb to Podkonické Pleše. On weekends there is an opportunity to replenish food and drinks at the Mountain Lodge Pleše.

The trip continues along a field road above the lodge to one of the top spots of today's trip. Podkonické Pleše is located at an altitude of 987 m above sea level. Here we can rest, recharge strength and energy. Enjoy stunning views of the Low Tatras ridges, Veľká Fatra, Kremnické Vrchy, and Poľana. 

The field road then leads us to Príslop Saddle and from there to the crossroads of cycling routes of all 4 colors, near the burned-down village of Kalište. Be sure to turn off and see the village of Kalište (National Cultural Monument), which was burned down during World War II.

To Donovaly we have less than half an hour left. In Donovaly you can recharge e-bike batteries and refresh yourself in several restaurants. 

The route continues along the red magistral trail to the ridge of the Low Tatras. The final climb to Kečka will be tough. It will be the hardest part of our trip today. Over rocky terrain, we reach Hadľanka Saddle  with perfect views of the surrounding nature. We continue on a turnoff under Kozí Chrbát with a shelter and a crossroads at Hiadeľ Saddle.

From here awaits us a endless descent through the mountain saddle on a marked cycling trail to the crossroads of cycling trail signs in Vážna Valley above the village of Hiadeľ. At the crossroads we choose the mountain turnoff to the right to pass to Moštenická Kysla. We descend through the village of Moštenica and continue to the destination - to the village of Slovenská Ľupča.
