As the name suggests, the "Weitblick-Wanderweg" offers dreamlike views over the original landscape of the Vordereifel – not only from the "Hohe Acht".
The approximately 13 km long Weitblick-Wanderweg, located very close to the legendary Nürburgring, offers stunning panoramic views over meadows, forests, and fields as well as an interesting discovery journey through culture and history.
Along idyllic field and meadow paths and past babbling streams, the Weitblick-Wanderweg leads up to the Kaiser Wilhelm Tower on the "Hohe Acht", the highest elevation of the Eifel at 747 m above NHN, with a magnificent panoramic view over Eifel, Hunsrück, and Westerwald. Anyone who has made it this far has already passed the most demanding part of the route.
The "Herresbach little shrine" offers the chance for inner reflection and contemplation.
Also particularly impressive is the "Herresbach oak sapling", a several hundred-year-old oak tree that fell victim to the Kyrill storm in 2007. From here, you can once again enjoy a beautiful view or take a break in the nearby shelter.
Author’s recommendation
If the Weitblick-Wanderweg is too long for you, you can first try the Sun circular route about 6 kilometers long around Herresbach.

Roadbook
The start is at the village square in the center of Herresbach, right next to the guardian angel chapel.
From here, follow the main road towards Siebenbach and turn right onto Waldstraße just before leaving the village. There, keep left and walk along the Eschbach to the district road (K2). After about 150 m, leave this road again. The path now leads to the right.
Passing the forest, a small bridge is reached. After crossing the stream, you reach the K2 again via meadow paths above the district of Eschbach. Uphill, after a few meters, turn left to the forest edge. Here, follow the path for about 1.2 km, past a wayside shrine and benches.
Crossing the federal road (B412), the path ascends to the "Hohe Acht" ("tower" signposted). After about 2 km, you have a magnificent panoramic view over the Eifel, Hunsrück, and Westerwald from the Kaiser Wilhelm Tower. From the lookout tower, the hiking trail descends for about 1.4 km at the other end of the rest area ("tower" signposted).
On the other side of the federal road, continue through beautiful forests towards Reuterberg until you reach the "Herresbach little shrine" after about 5 km. Via an asphalted path, after about 250 m, you reach the "Herresbach oak sapling". Nearby is a shelter that offers a nice view for resting.
From here, return to the starting point via Töpferstraße.
