A nature park circular route from Silzer See up to the ruins of Lindelbrunn, Kellerfelsen, and Schweinsfelsen with beautiful views of the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve.
We start our tour in the town center of Silz at Lindenplatz. Past Silzer See, we hike left up into the forest. The path winds to the hiking parking lot below the ruins of Lindelbrunn. On the way, we find forest viewing frames pointing to forestry features. At the hiking parking lot, the detour to Lindelbrunn Castle ruins (700 m) is worthwhile, and there is the possibility to stop at the Cramerhaus.
Next, we hike a stretch along the street. At the next hiking parking lot, we turn southeast into the forest and hike past Kellerfelsen on the ridge to Schweinsfelsen. Over a steep ladder, you reach a beautiful viewpoint with a panoramic view.
Back down from the rock, the path descends the mountain in switchbacks, then straight ahead and half-right at a junction. At the end of the path, we reach the Silz sports field, which we leave to the left, and take the already known path back to the starting point.

A dining option is the Cramerhaus at the parking lot below Lindelbrunn. A nice excursion destination nearby is the wildlife and hiking park.

Cramerhaus LindelbrunnSafety information
General information:
Especially in autumn, note that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches may fall afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, there may be muddy and slippery sections on natural paths. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when you undertake a hike. If you think certain path sections are not passable for you, you should avoid them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting groups on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a path closure or detour, please follow the instructions for your own safety.

Roadbook
The circular hiking route of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park starts at Lindenplatz in the town center, right next to the church. We leave the parking lot to the right, turn left into Schulstraße after a few meters. Then we walk over the street Im Sulzfeld and turn right into Haselhofstraße, which leads back to the main road. Here we stay to the left and hike past the cemetery straight ahead to Silzer See. We walk along the lake parallel to the tree nature trail. At the end of the lake, the path leads left up to the hiking and cycling path, where we turn right. After a few meters we reach a junction. Here, a path offset to the left branches off, which we follow uphill. We hike out of the valley, make a small detour to the left over a narrow path and then continue straight again on the somewhat wider path.
We encounter the PWV marking yellow-red and continue hiking parallel to the left towards Lindelbrunn. Over a steep path, we reach a hiking parking lot. Here we keep sharply to the right, immediately leave the wide path again to the left. Now it goes along the forest edge to a large crossroads. On the left, we already see the hiking parking lot below the ruins of Lindelbrunn. The castle can be reached via a 700m long detour. The view is worth the climb but extends the route by 1.4 km.
Back at the parking lot, you can stop at the Cramerhaus. Past the Cramerhaus, we follow the street to the hiking parking lot we already know from the outward journey. Now we take the middle path towards Silz and Schweinsfelsen. Initially, we hike on the wide path until a path branches off uphill to the right. We follow this to Kellerfelsen. Here, 26 leads left, then immediately half right further up the mountain. On the ridge, we continue hiking to Schweinsfelsen.
Here we enjoy the great view at the summit cross. The ladder up is steep but well secured. Back on the path, it goes to the end of the rock and zigzag down at the boundary stone. Initially, the hiking trail then leads straight ahead; at the next junction, we keep right towards Silz. We reach the street at the sports field at the exit of Silz. At the front side of the sports field, we walk again towards the tree nature trail and return through the already known path through the town to our starting point at Lindenplatz.
