The Druslach is a small artificial tributary of the Queich. It branches off from the Fuchsbach at Buweabloss in Zeiskam and meanders past Lustadt to Lingenfeld and into the Rhine.

The hiking trail offers a variety of impressions: It leads from Lingenfeld through the charming wooded lowlands of the Old Rhine, past fish ponds, mills, through fields and meadows and ends in Zeiskam at the so-called "Buweabloss" - the former washing place for young men in earlier times. This is the place where the beginning of the Druslach is marked by a weir: from here, the water of the Druslach splits off from that of the Fuchsbach.Walking along the Druslachbach experience trail means enjoying inviting benches with beautiful views, cosy resting places and play areas and succumbing to the charm of this lovely little hiking trail.

UFFBASSE! - Campaign for being considerate of others in nature

    • Always act in a proactive, friendly and considerate way towards everyone you encounter along the way.
    • Respect nature, do not destroy plants and always stay on the paths. Try to avoid excessive noise and leave the forest before dusk.
    • Remember to take a rubbish bag with you when you go out and take your rubbish back home.
    • Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals thank you.
    • For your own safety, observe all road closures, including at weekends.
    • Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery.
    • Please give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

    Safety information

In autumn in particular, it is important to remember that leaves lying on the ground can hide bumps, roots, stones and holes in the path. Trees can topple and branches can fall down after thunderstorms and rainstorms. Natural paths can become muddy and slippery, especially in poor weather conditions. Not all rocks and precipices are secured with ropes or railings. You need to be sure-footed in certain areas. Damage to paths of this kind is to be expected on hikes. If you feel that certain sections of the path are not passable for you, please avoid them.

    NOTE:

We endeavour to announce all closures due to forest work or hunting parties on this platform. Nevertheless, sometimes there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a road closure or diversion, please follow the instructions for your own safety.

    Roadbook

A narrow nature trail leads along the high banks of the Altrhein from Lingenfeld railway station to the mouth of the Druslach under the railway bridge. The trail continues along the banks of the stream via the "Tuchbleiche" in Lingenfeld, past the fishing ponds in Westheim and the Lachmühle in Lustadt to the "Bubenabloss" in Zeiskam.

Starting from the large information board, cross the railway tracks at Lingenfeld railway station at the gated level crossing towards the end of the village. At the wooden sign on the right-hand side of the road, a flight of steps leads down to the banks of the Old Rhine. Follow the narrow path for approx. 2 km until the Druslach flows into the Old Rhine in front of the railway bridge. After crossing under the railway bridge, you come to the riverside path along the Druslach, which you follow for approx. 650 m to the "Tuchbleiche". Cross a wooden bridge to reach the former bleaching meadow with historic washing benches and a furnished rest area. From the meadow area, turn left up the slope, from where a narrow path branches off to the right and continues up the slope. At the top, turn right onto the concrete track that runs through orchards to the small animal farm. Leave the track there and turn right onto the narrow path that winds through a small wood above the Mühlensee lake. After approx. 300 metres, cross the Druslach confluence with the Mühlensee lake via a wooden staircase. Above this, turn left and after approx. 120 m cross under the main road (Bundesstraße 9). The nature trail winds along the high embankment of the Druslach. After approx. 500 metres, you will reach the Mariengrotte grotto via a hollow path 50 metres down to the left, an ideal resting place very close to the stream.

Continue above the grotto for approx. 250 metres until you come to three historical boundary stones. Turn right here and turn left at the crossroads onto RUNDWANDERWEG 1, which meets the L 538 district road after 300 metres. From the boundary stones, you can also walk along the idyllic "Heinz-Dangelmayer - Weg" near the stream to the district road through the woods. Marking: blue coloured stripes on the tree trunks. After crossing the district road, turn left and walk along the road for approx. 50 metres before turning right onto the wide forest path. After approx. 500 metres, you will come to a crossroads where you turn left and after approx. 50 metres you will see the picturesque fishing ponds on the dammed Druslach near Westheim. A narrow path leads you to the right past the chain of lakes to an open refuge, approx. 300 metres. Continue for approx. 80 metres and turn right at the wooden bridge for approx. 40 metres until you reach a bend in the path. Continue left on the wide circular hiking trail 1 to the Lachenmühle mill in Lustadt, approx. 1.3 km. Here you will again see idyllic fishing ponds fed by the Druslach. From here, a wide path leads along the Druslach for approx. 1 km through meadows and fields. After crossing the Bellheimer Weg in Lustadt's industrial estate, you enter a small forest again. Cross a wooden footbridge that bridges the "Sauheidegraben" drainage ditch to reach the boundary of the Zeiskam district. The path leads south of the Druslach through fertile pasture and farmland to the entrance to Zeiskam. There, the hiking trail leaves the Druslach and bends southwards to the L 540. After the junction to the "Sauheide" industrial estate, the trail continues westwards via the crossing aid on the L 540, along the Sauheidegraben ditch. After approx. 300 metres, the trail rejoins the Druslach. The destination of the hike is the so-called "Bubenabloss". This is where the Fuchsbach divides into the Hofgraben and the Druslach.
