AZIMUT
The end point of the route is the Sanctuary that stands in suggestive solitude on a plateau on the western slope of the Sibillini. In the past, one of the roads leading to Loreto passed on the plateau, its path dotted with other minor sanctuaries marking its stages. The second part of the route involves passing through a wooded area that occasionally opens to interesting panoramic views towards Ussita; in spring it is possible to come across meadows with a rich variety of flowers. The route is rich in numerous laburnum plants that make it particularly charming during the flowering period.

Safety information
The trail does not present particular difficulties for those used to hiking in the mountains; always maintain a responsible and respectful behavior towards the environment that hosts us.
WARNINGS regarding the use of content from the Azimut project:
The extent of the trails in this network is very vast and subject to rapid and unpredictable degradation due to natural or human causes, so the human and economic resources available are insufficient to resolve all critical issues in real time; however, the network exists although it may sometimes present issues of passability and/or orientation. Moreover, electronic GPS routes can contain errors due to the tools used or the methods of surveying or tracking, and should be considered an aid for locating the route and navigation and do not replace topographic maps and traditional orientation tools. For these reasons, the exercise of public information activities, monitoring, trail maintenance, and signage by volunteers coordinated by the CAI of Macerata does not exclude the existence of natural obstacles and difficulties nor the risks related to the use of the natural environment, and anyone undertaking a route/trail, even if marked, does so under their own responsibility to know and control the means used, to wear appropriate clothing, to have prepared physically, to be aware of orientation techniques, reading the territory and maps, to be capable of recognizing and assessing the risks of their behavior and the precautions to mitigate their effects.
Tips and suggestions
The Sanctuary "stands in suggestive solitude on a plateau (m 998) on the western slope of the Sibillini. In the past, one of the roads leading to Loreto passed over the plateau, its path dotted with other minor sanctuaries marking its stages. The current building, with noble Bramantesque lines, was built between 1528 and 1528 and can be considered "the most complete example of Renaissance architecture in Marche (Pietro Zampetti). The construction was overseen by Lombard masters directed by Filippo Salvi, the project author, and Giovanni Battista da Lugano, who died during the work falling from scaffolding and was buried here. Inside, with a Greek cross plan, are notable frescoes in the apse basin, by Simone de Magistris (1580-82); at the center is the previous 14th-century chapel, clad in stone and marble in 1585-90, inside which is placed a copy of the wooden Madonna (15th century) to whom the sanctuary is dedicated, now housed in the Museum-gallery of Visso." The departure is from La Torre above the town of Visso. Clear directions must be followed regarding the Grande Anello dei Sibillini “G”. The vegetation is wooded, not particularly dense for the first stretch, along which the watering trough “Fonte dell'Oppio” is encountered; then it proceeds until reaching the pastures from where the descent towards the sanctuary of Macereto begins.
From the sanctuary, continue on path 306 which follows the paved road, then soon return to the pastures and then take path 307 to begin the descent through a dense and pleasant forest leading back to the starting point.
