From Weißensee you go up into the forest, continue to Salober Alm and return via Alatsee.
The steadily ascending route goes past moss-covered rocks through the spruce and beech forest on the Weißensee mountain. The varied route includes the two lakes Alatsee and Weißensee. After a stop and descent from the Salober Alm, the opportunity arises for a refreshment swim in the mysterious and picturesque Alatsee or also in the Weißensee.
Author’s recommendation
A small route extension to the Weißensee panoramic view and the four-lakes view near Salober Alm is worthwhile.

Safety information
Be careful on the root paths when it is raining and wet.
This route passes grazing pastures, so please observe the following instructions from the Bavarian Farmers' Association:
Hikers, cyclists, and visitors like to come to the Alpine pastures and enjoy the view during a hearty snack. Not only people live on the pastures, but also grazing animals. Cows, calves, sheep, and horses enjoy their "summer break" there. To prevent unwanted encounters between you and the animals, here is a collection of behavioral rules from the Bavarian Farmers' Association.
- An alp / alpine pasture is not a petting zoo! Avoid direct contact with the animals.
- Do not take selfies with grazing animals.
- Keep your distance!
- Make a detour around herds with calves. Cows protect their calves!
- Walk slowly through the pasture.
- Avoid sudden movements. Animals are skittish.
- Do not make noise.
- Do not separate individual animals from the herd.
- Keep dogs on a leash! Cows instinctively react nervously to dogs. In case of danger: let dogs off the leash!
- Pay attention to warning signals from cows! For example, lowering the head, pawing, bellowing.
- Do not approach cows from the front. Cows have a pronounced lateral field of vision.
- Do not turn your back to cows unobserved.

Roadbook
You start at the Weißensee bathing area and walk clockwise along the lake shore path until you reach the junction towards "Roßmoos/Wiedmar". There you turn right and follow the paved cycle and footpath until you reach the Roßmoos district. Passing the shooting range, you walk through Roßmoos until after about 100 meters you turn left towards "Salober Alp". The field path leads you onto a managed grazing area (watch out for alpine cattle!), where the path splits. Keep left, always following the "Salober Alp" signs. Further along a forest road, after a few minutes on the left, you'll reach a hiking trail that leads you steadily upwards. At the upcoming junction, keep right. If you want to plan a worthwhile extension of the route to the Weißensee panoramic view, choose the left hiking trail here. Both paths lead you to the managed Salober Alm. From there you walk downhill on the road to the Alatsee. Upon reaching the Alatsee circular path, keep left and at the parking lot turn left following the „Weißensee“ signs onto the road. Follow the paved road to the end of the marked parking spaces, then turn left at the barrier onto the hiking trail to the "Weißensee circular path". You follow the root path until you reach the Weißensee circular path, which you follow clockwise back to your starting point at the Weißensee bathing area.
Refreshment options are available at the Salober Alm or the kiosk at the Weißensee bathing area.
