Shortly before Beilenberg, turn right onto the field path and continue straight ahead at the next crossroads in the direction of "Sonthofer Hof". Over time, the path turns into a narrow path, but you soon reach the paved alpine path to Sonthofer Hof, which you reach shortly afterwards. This is located in the middle of the pastures below the Sonthofer Hörnle at an altitude of 1142 m and offers a magnificent view. It is also an excellent place to stop for a bite to eat from May to mid-October (closed on Thursdays).
A meadow path begins to the south of the Sonthofer Hof, which leads to the unmanaged Beilenberg Hof. From there it is not far to the Altstädter Hof. This is situated at an altitude of 1280 m and is a popular starting point for hikes to the Sonnenköpfen. The alp is open from the beginning of May to the end of October (closed on Mondays). During this time, snacks, drinks, fresh milk and homemade cakes are available. The little ones can let off steam in the playground before continuing in a southerly direction to the Sonnenklause. You cross the Leybach stream, which we meet again later, keep right at the fork in the path on the other side and hike across meadows and forests down to the Sonnenklause mountain hotel. Hungry and thirsty hikers can stop here for a bite to eat on the sun terrace (closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays).
Then follow the meadow path back north towards Leybachtobel. At the next fork in the path, turn right for a few meters before turning left and a little later right to the banks of the already familiar Leybach stream. Here you follow the Leybach in the direction of flow and cross it a few times until you reach the Hubertus Falls. Follow the Leybach further down to Altstädten, where you return to the starting point on the outward route.
