The approx. 5 km long circular trail starts at the Steinberghütte near Bexbach-Frankenholz and first passes the Hollerbrunnen. It continues through the forest to the Bruderbrunnen and further past the invisible border of the Neunkirchen neighbors at a great viewpoint with a sensory bench. Shortly after follow the rest area "Tilemann-Stella-Platz" as well as the Frankenbrunnen and Karlsbrunnen. The Steinberg loop runs largely parallel to the Neunkirchen premium hiking trail "Hangarder Brunnenpfad".

    Safety information

    Attention:

Basically, entering the forest and walking the hiking trails is at your own risk.

Seasonally or due to weather conditions, increased surefootedness is required on some trail sections.

Therefore, wear clothing adapted to the season and weather and hiking boots with appropriate soles.

    Please particularly note:

Careful walking on constructed stairs in the forest (they may be slippery due to fallen leaves).

    TOGETHER WITH RESPECT

Friendliness, understanding, and consideration for each other are fundamental principles for the cooperative use of our natural environment. The code is:

Use existing paths, follow signage, and respect trail closures

Leave no traces like litter or dog waste and treat the trail gently

Respect other users of forest and countryside

Be considerate of animals and plants

    Plan ahead and use daylight

    DISCLAIMER:

Despite repeated checks and careful preparation of the trail descriptions, the publisher assumes no liability for the accuracy and completeness of the information in this description.

    USAGE NOTE:

Dear hiking friends, the trails also lead on natural paths through pristine nature reserves and forests. Preserving and protecting nature is very important to us.

We also want to point out the risks and therefore ask you to stay on marked trails and not to enter existing rock heads for safety reasons. Furthermore, we point out the presence of natural forest hazards. Due to weather, some spots on the trail can be softened and slippery and should therefore be walked with special caution. Firm footwear is recommended on all routes, surefootedness indispensable.

Use of the hiking trails and premium hiking trails is at your own risk.

    MARKING AND SIGNAGE:

All quality trails are circular routes that can be walked in both directions. Therefore, signage is provided in both directions. Try walking the loop the other way and you will discover completely new perspectives and different viewpoints.

    Roadbook

The starting point of the route is at the Steinberghütte of the Pfälzerwald-Verein Oberbexbach. From here, the route often runs parallel to the

Premium trail "Hangarder Brunnenpfad". First to the Hollerbrunnen and then to the Bruderbrunnen it goes through the forest. After the Bruderbrunnen, the hiking trail branches off to the right after a few hundred meters and runs along the forest edge to two sensory benches with a nice view of Hangard. Some time later, the loop turns right and leads to the Frankenbrunnen and later to the Karlsbrunnen. All springs are shaded in the forest and invite you to refresh and linger. After the Karlsbrunnen, it only takes a short time to reach the starting point again.

    Public transport

The hike is also accessible by public transport. Bus line 505 runs daily from Bexbach or Homburg to Frankenholz to the "Apotheke" stop, from where the trail can be reached via a short walk. From the stop, first follow the Grubenweg Frankenholz, which leads under the stop into a small side street of Höcherbergstraße. Then it goes briefly to the right on the "Bliessteig" before you reach the Steinberg loop at the next intersection.
