The route makes a round trip from Despotovac, via Bukovac and Manasija Monastery, back to Despotovac.
Built in the early fifteenth century by Despot Stefan Lazarević, Manasija became one of the most important monasteries of medieval Serbia. Its high fortified walls and towers give it the appearance of a small fortress, reflecting the unstable conditions of the final decades before the Ottoman conquest. Inside the enclosure stand the monastery church and the remains of the monastic complex, known for their frescoes and manuscript tradition.
After visiting the monastery, the trail returns through the same landscape of fields and wooded foothills to Despotovac.
