This hike is one of the traditional activities of the Naturfreunde Feldkirchen, usually scheduled on Easter Monday. With contemplation and mindful movement, it aims to offer an alternative way to conclude Easter. The hike is also very rewarding throughout the year!
Starting at the Michaelis Church at Amthof in Feldkirchen, the route intentionally passes 7 stations of reflection along the way for the hikers: the parish church Maria im Dorn, the St. Ulrich church, the Kitzel chapel at the summit of Wachsenberg, the church of Wachsenberg, the church in Poitschach, and the Evangelical church in Waiern. 22 kilometers of inner reflection in beautiful surroundings, with a rest at the inn "Zum Alten Messner" providing enough time to find a good physical and spiritual balance.

Roadbook
The starting point is the Michaelis Church (1) near Amthof Feldkirchen, from where the route continues to the church Maria im Dorn (2) and follows the foot and bike path (Way of Water Power) past heaths along a field path towards St. Ulrich. At the parish church St. Ulrich (3), you can enjoy a first rest with a wonderful view over the area. Here, the Kreuzwirt also welcomes guests! North of this church, taking the state road towards Steuerberg, then at a farm turning right following the markings uphill along a forest road. In a few minutes you reach a water reservoir, keep right here and continue hiking over trails and paths, half-circling the entire mountain up to the state road in Pölling. Cross the road and following its course, walk about 2 km uphill to a nicely located farm with a well beside the road. If you want to fill up water supplies here, best ask the farmer, who surely won’t mind. From here, continue about one kilometer further until the hiking trail turns right into the forest. After about 500 meters, follow the markings to the right and partly on the track of a former ski lift up to the Kitzel chapel St. Ägidius (4), the highest point of the hike (1091 m). The cozy seating and the wonderful panoramic view invite you to linger and reflect quietly.
Then it goes downhill again to the inn "Zum Alten Messner" for a good snack with a view of the nearby parish church Wachsenberg (St. Andreas) (5), which you should visit best before the meal. After the break, head back a bit from the inn, keep right, and just before the first houses take a narrow path to the left into a water-filled trench. The hiking trail goes downhill from here to the Gurktal federal road to the GH Stückler as another refreshment stop. Right across waits the filial church Poitschach (6) as another station for the "Seven Churches Hikers", with a bit of walking on a bike path and then a field path until reaching the Diakonie and the Evangelical Trinity Church (7) in Waiern. From there, it’s just under three kilometers back to the starting point at the Michaelis Church in Feldkirchen.
